History

In 1962 West Aucklanders Colin Crump and Dan Kenny started a tape manufacturing company called Danco, which became the market leader for speciality adhesives tapes.

In the mid 70’s the company was sold to Trigon Packaging who owned it for over twenty years when in 1995 they sold it to Sealed Air.

During this period PGL owner Charles Kilvington arrived in New Zealand, in 1986, and his first job was as Danco’s first ever salesperson. Charlie says “Danco taught me everything I know about tapes, and for me it was the beginning of a fantastic journey”.

In a serendipitous moment, in 2021 Sealed Air sold the Danco (tape division) to Charlie Kilvington meaning today Danco is again NZ owned and operated with a focus on supporting the commercial, manufacturing, engineering and construction sectors in NZ.
